Biography:
Summer is a civil rights and international human rights attorney whose practice at Schonbrun Seplow Harris Hoffman & Zeldes focuses on complex federal litigation, class actions, and impact cases involving constitutional law, consumer protection, and accountability for human rights abuses.
Before joining the firm, Summer advocated for asylum seekers, including African and LGBTQ clients, through the Southern California Immigration Project, and supported federal criminal defense matters involving national security and immigration issues. She also served as a judicial extern with the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
Summer earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from California Western School of Law, with a concentration in International Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the California Western International Law Journal and received the Distinguished Advocate Award.
In addition to litigation, Summer brings over a decade of international experience in human rights advocacy and storytelling. She consulted for the Kigali Genocide Memorial in Rwanda, managed civilian protection and advocacy projects in East and Central Africa and spent more than ten years as a producer creating commercials and documentaries in over 20 countries. This work includes producing a short documentary on the rule of law in Ukraine for the American Society of International Law. Summer is also a published author on sanctions evasion, genocide accountability, and truth and reconciliation processes, with work appearing in law journals and national writing competitions.
Summer is admitted to the California Bar and is committed to bridging rigorous legal advocacy with real-world impact in the pursuit of justice and human rights.
